Prosfygika è da 16 anni un quartiere occupato ed autogestito nel cuore di Atene, che ospita circa 400 persone e offre protezione speciale all3 rifugiat3. Nelle parole di chi la abita, Prosfygika è una proposta vitale: costruire collettività e giustizia sociale nelle sue forme più pure – una lotta per la libertà e l'uguaglianza, in qualsiasi tempo e luogo.

Prosfygika si trova adesso sotto attacco: un progetto di "riqualificazione urbanistica" dell'intero quartiere (circondato da sedi istituzionali e luoghi turistici) minaccia la sua esistenza. Il 5 febbraio, Aristotelis Chantzis ha iniziato uno sciopero della fame fino alla morte, un'azione estrema a cui si è aggiunta Suzon Doppagne lo scorso primo maggio.

Il 24.06.2026, con la salute di Aristotelis che si deteriorava rapidamente e tra cortei di solidarietà in tutte le grandi città greche, il governo regionale dell'Attica ha annullato il piano illegale di sgombero. La Comunità di Prosfygika occupata ha deciso di porre fine agli scioperi della fame di Aristotelis (140 giorni) e Suzon (55 giorni), vedendo pienamente soddisfatte le loro richieste, almeno per il momento.

La lotta non è finita, continuerà. La prossima estate sarà cruciale non solo per la salute degli scioperanti della fame, ma anche per il processo in corso relativo al piano di sfratto e in termini di repressione. La solidarietà internazionalista ha giocato un ruolo importante nella vittoria dello sciopero della fame; ora che la lotta continua, è fondamentale che la solidarietà internazionalista prosegua e si rafforzi ulteriormente, tenendo alta l’attenzione sulla Comunità di Prosfygika ed esportando il suo modello di resistenza, di organizzazione e di vita.

Prosfygika is a self-managed occupied neighbourhood in the heart of Athens that has existed for the past 16 years. It is home to around 400 people and provides special protection to refugees. In the words of those who live there, Prosfygika is a living proposal: to build community and social justice in their purest forms—a struggle for freedom and equality, at any time and in any place.

Prosfygika is now under attack: a "urban redevelopment" project for the entire neighbourhood (surrounded by government institutions and tourist sites) threatens its very existence. On 5 February, Aristotelis Chantzis began a hunger strike until death, an extreme action that was joined by Suzon Doppagne on 1 May.

On 24 June 2026, as Aristotelis' health was rapidly deteriorating and solidarity demonstrations were taking place in all major Greek cities, the Regional Government of Attica withdrew the illegal eviction plan. The Occupied Community of Prosfygika decided to end the hunger strikes of Aristotelis (140 days) and Suzon (55 days), considering that their demands had been fully met, at least for the time being.

The struggle is not over—it will continue. The coming summer will be crucial not only for the health of the hunger strikers, but also for the ongoing legal proceedings concerning the eviction plan and in terms of repression. Internationalist solidarity played an important role in the victory of the hunger strike; now that the struggle continues, it is essential that internationalist solidarity also continues and grows stronger, keeping attention focused on the Community of Prosfygika and spreading its model of resistance, organisation, and collective life.

Εδώ και 16 χρόνια, τα Προσφυγικά είναι μια κατειλημμένη και αυτοοργανωμένη γειτονιά στην καρδιά της Αθήνας, που φιλοξενεί περίπου 400 άτομα και προσφέρει προστασία σε πρόσφυγες και μετανάστριες.

Τα Προσφυγικά δέχονται τώρα επίθεση: ένα έργο «αστικοποίησης» ολόκληρης της γειτονιάς (που περιβάλλεται από κυβερνητικά κτίρια και τουριστικά αξιοθέατα) απειλεί την ίδια τους την ύπαρξη. Στις 5 Φεβρουαρίου, ο Αριστοτέλης Χατζής ξεκίνησε απεργία πείνας μέχρι θανάτου, ένα ακραίο μέτρο στο οποίο αποφάσισε να συμμετάσχει και η Suzon Doppagne την 1η Μαΐου.

Στις 24 Ιουνίου 2026, με την υγεία του Αριστοτέλη να επιδεινώνεται ραγδαία και εν μέσω διαδηλώσεων αλληλεγγύης σε όλες τις μεγάλες ελληνικές πόλεις, η περιφερειακή κυβέρνηση της Αττικής ακύρωσε το παράνομο σχέδιο έξωσης. Η κατειλημμένη κοινότητα Προσφυγικών αποφάσισε να τερματίσει τις απεργίες πείνας του Αριστοτέλη (140 ημέρες) και της Σουζόν (55 ημέρες), βλέποντας τα αιτήματά τους να ικανοποιούνται, τουλάχιστον προς το παρόν.

Ο αγώνας δεν έχει τελειώσει. Το ερχόμενο καλοκαίρι θα είναι κρίσιμο όχι μόνο για την υγεία των απεργών πείνας, αλλά και για νέες πιθανές εξελίξεις σχετικά με το σχέδιο έξωσης και την καταστολή. Η διεθνιστική αλληλεγγύη έπαιξε σημαντικό ρόλο στη νίκη της απεργίας πείνας. Τώρα που ο αγώνας συνεχίζεται, είναι απαραίτητο να συνεχιστεί και να δυναμώσει ακόμη περισσότερο, διατηρώντας την προσοχή στην Κοινότητα Προσφυγικών και εξάγοντας το μοντέλο αντίστασης και οργάνωσης που έχει χτιστεί από την κοινότητα όλα αυτά τα χρόνια.
